The malleable and forgiving end grain surface is resistant to nicks and gouges, which prevents bacteria from entering the wood, keeps the board looking new longer and increases its longevity. The surface of the Calais Butcher Block Table features a Boos Block Cream Finish with Beeswax that penetrates deeply into the grains of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier to lock moisture in. This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream.
