For all of your working needs, it has a sturdy marble surface as well as three shelves where you can store your cooking utensils, pots and pans, or cookbooks. Employing traditional methods passed down for centuries, the Wrought Iron Kitchen Island is painstakingly shaped by hand using an anvil and hammer--a process called "forging." True wrought iron can be distinguished by its sensuous patterns, curves, and marks frequently evident from the forging and welding processes. Small irregularities are usually apparent and are valued as evidence of the smith's unique craft. Choose from finishes like Sheer Metal, Natural Rust, Spanish Moss and Crackle colors. All finishes are individually done by hand so each kitchen island is different. For example, Natural Rust is oxidized so rust can form, while special aging techniques are used to create our Crackle finishes. For the countertop, choose from Travertine, Iron or Copperstone. It is cut to specifications and then sealed. The surfaces and edges are slightly irregular due to the presence of geodes and steam vents in the natural rock, giving this kitchen island an even more unique appearance. Our culinary work tables are made in the USA. Please allow 4-6 weeks plus transit time for receiving your antiqued kitchen island. Because each island is made to order, this item can't be canceled production begins and it can't be returned.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the product, small irregularities are often apparent and are evidence of the metalsmith's craft; these small irregularities do not constitute defects in workmanship, but rather enhance the unique appeal of the piece.
