This finish can be maintained with John Boos Mystery Oil or Boos Board Cream. The 60" x 30" oval work surface is accessible from all sides, and is more than large enough for any food preparation task. The 4-inch thick maple table top rests atop an ornate base with four round legs and two slatted wood shelves. Three charming wicker baskets that rest on either shelf help you keep stored items close at hand, but out of view. Some of the steps they take to accomplish their “green” status include manufacturing wood products that emit far less carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and other gases than processing non-wood substitutes; using only formaldehyde free and low emission formaldehyde gluing processes in manufacturing our butcher blocks; and having active recycling programs in place with 95% of all raw materials, scrap, and even their sawdust recycled as fuel to heat their kilns.
